SMEs get WhatsApp Business App in India

WhatsApp introduces business app in India for small and medium enterprises. The app has already been launched in Italy, Mexico, UK, Indonesia and US. It is currently limited to android platform. To use the WhatsApp business app which is meant for enterprises users will have to delink their numbers from the regular account in order to use that number for the business version of the app. WhatsApp has introduced this app to make it easier for the companies to connect with their customers and it is free-to-download. Business app users can add their company’s description to their account where they can add their E-mail, profile picture, store addresses, website links, mobile numbers and other details. Adding to that WhatsApp will also allow SMEs to use WhatsApp web for their business account. Users will be able to preset greeting messages, away messages for customers. Consumers have the authority to block or report any business on WhatsApp. The verification of the business accounts will be the same as of regular accounts. Verified accounts will have a green tick next to them. Taking into consideration the interest of the 84% of SMBs in India in using the apps WhatsApp has introduced this business app. WhatsApp looks forward to add bigger enterprises to its service too.
